Online Community Management for Dummies is the book I wanted to read when I was starting out as a community manager. Though it’s a “Dummies” book, and a basic, practical, reference book, I also hope it’s an intelligent look at some of the issues community managers face today, and how to deal with a variety of situations.
If you have been a part of my own online communities, you may know that community management and building online communities are a passion of mine. I’ve been doing this for years. I have always enjoyed interacting with people and I’ m so fortunate to parlay this into a wonderful career.
Everything I talk about in Online Community Management for Dummies stems from experience. This book practically wrote itself because I lived through all of the situations and issues outlined on its pages. Some of the things I talk about:
- Why online communities are important
- Why negativity only makes things more negative
- How to nip negativity in the bud and host a positive, productive community
- How to gauge community participation and what to do with what you learn
- How to take an online community offline
- So much more
I’d love to give you a copy of Online Community Management for Dummies. I’m very proud of it and want nothing more than to share it with my community.
Drop a comment and talk to me about the importance of online communities and why a community manager is such an essential role for any business. I’ll choose a random response, but please know comments must add to the discussion.
Looking forward to your thoughts….
