Re-Visiting Kommein

by Deb Ng on May 26, 2010

in Kommein

I don’t have too many regrets. I look at all opportunities, whether positive or negative, as learning experiences. That’s why all feedback is good feedback. With that said, I regret neglecting Kommein, this blog showed so much promise as a resource for community managers and I left it to fall by the wayside once my blog network began taking up my time on a full time basis.

I have decided it’s time to revive Kommein, but in a slightly different format. Instead of focusing solely on community and community management, I’d like to include other aspects of social media, including blogging. You see, social media is my passion but I have no where else to talk discuss it. Though I try to sneak in topics on my freelance writing blog from time to time, that community would much rather discuss writing.

So here I am. Again.

I hope you’ll give me a second chance.

I’m really looking forward to seeing how you develop things here. People in my offline life don’t get blogging/social media, so I’m always up for a discussion with folks who share those passions.

Deb Ng 05.26.10 at 9:47 am

Thanks, Jean. I look forward to chatting with you and discussing our mutual passion.

You did it, ya know? Got me to add another RSS feed to my Google reader. I have to agree with Jean. People in my offline life don’t get blogging either, though way too many of them get farm stuff on Facebook, which zips right over my head along with RPG’s. Reading different blogs, how people are doing what they do is what keeps me sane.

Hi Deb,

I actually discovered your blog only yesterday, and was thinking it was a shame it had lapsed into inactivity. Glad you’re back on the wagon!

Deb Ng 05.26.10 at 3:47 pm

Hi Marrell – Thank you for including Kommein in your feed reader. I’m honored at the inclusion and hope you’ll step out beyond the feeds to participate in the conversation.

@Blaise – Maybe it was your positivity that gave me the kick in the butt I needed to start back up again? Please don’t be a stranger.

It seems you wear a lot of hats. Cheers for taking on this additional project – I look forward to hearing more from you (on blogging in particular) here. Like Jean and marell, I find that many of my offline people (and even some of my online people) don’t get it.

Deb Ng 05.26.10 at 7:05 pm

Hi Melissa,

I’ll make you a deal. I’ll blog about blogging (and other stuff) if you promise to come back and contribute to the conversation!

As for my hats, I’m working on cleaning out my closet so I don’t have as many to wear.

Another must read blog from a good friend and a great resource. What are you doing with the hats you are cleaning out of your closet? Are any of them shareable?

Whenever someone says they don’t know how I keep up with writing for so many different places I explain that I’m not the only one. You also do it all and I hope to learn from your example and make a decent living — with at least a weekend day off each week!

I will be checking out this blog weekly.
Marcia
