About Kommein

My name is Deborah Ng, but you probably know me simply as “Deb.” I’m the founder and former owner of the Freelance Writing Jobs network of blogs (sold to SplashPress Media in July 2010),  and Director of Community for the BlogWorld and New Media Expo.

I’m former Community Manager for several online brands, and a serial guest blogger. I’ve spoken at conferences and webinars such as BlogWorld, South by Southwest, Type A-Parent and others ,and I’m also the author of “Online Community Management For Dummies“ and co-author of the upcoming second edition of “Social Media Marketing All In One for Dummies” (Summer 2012).

In my past life, the non-social media, blogging, freelance life,  I worked mostly in publishing except for four years in the accounting department of a high end, New York City retail chain. I didn’t enjoy the work, but my experience in publishing and business yielded many valuable lessons, which I sometimes share here.

Kommein is my sanctuary. A place where I can escape from work and talk about my passion – social media, especially blogging and community. I hope you like what I have to say, and whether you agree with me or not, I hope you’ll offer your input in the comments.
