My name is Deborah Ng, but you probably know me simply as “Deb.” I’m the founder and former owner of the Freelance Writing Jobs network of blogs (sold to SplashPress Media in July 2010), and author of a couple of Dummies books. I currently work as an independent contractor and freelance writer specializing in community development, blogging and social media. I’m also the Community Manager for Social Media Examiner.
I’m former Community Manager for several online brands including New Media Expo and BlogTalkRadio. I’ve spoken at conferences and webinars such as BlogWorld, South by Southwest, Type A Parent and others. Somehow I found the time to author “Online Community Management For Dummies“ and co-author the second edition of “Social Media Marketing All In One for Dummies” .
In my past life, the non-social media, blogging, freelance life, I worked mostly in publishing except for four years in the accounting department of a high end, New York City retail chain. I didn’t enjoy the work, but my experience in publishing and business yielded many valuable lessons, which I sometimes share here.
Kommein is my sanctuary. A place where I can escape from work and talk about my passion – social media, especially blogging and community. I hope you like what I have to say, and whether you agree with me or not, I hope you’ll offer your input in the comments.
